This site is free to read because of affiliate commissions. Here is how that works, what it costs you, and what it does not change about what you read. The trips are compared on the Iceland volcano tours list.
The short version
We may earn a commission if you book through one of our links, at no extra cost to you. You pay the same price you would pay by going to the booking platform directly.
We are not a tour operator or a travel agency. We do not sell tours, take payments or act as an agent for any operator or platform.
Who does what
Every trip listed here is sold and operated by a third party. The operators on this site include 2Go Iceland Travel, Geoadventures, BusTravel Iceland, Arctic Adventures, Reykjavik Excursions, Troll Expeditions, Gravel Travel, Southcoast Adventure, GlacierHeli, Inside the Volcano, Raufarholshellir, Lava Show and Geo Travel. The operator name, the platform and the product ID sit on every card so you can check the listing yourself.
The operator runs the trip, the platform takes your payment and holds your booking, and both set the price, the inclusions and the cancellation terms. We have no authority to make commitments on their behalf and cannot change, refund or reschedule anything.
What the commission does not buy
Placement and wording are not for sale, and no operator has paid to appear here or to be described in a particular way.
The test is on the pages themselves. The most expensive listing on the site earns the largest commission and is not the one most visitors are pointed at. Where a listing still advertises lava that has stopped flowing, that is written on the card, next to the button that earns us money.
Ratings and reviews
Ratings and review counts are the platform's own, read from each listing. GetYourGuide figures come from verified bookings on that platform; Viator figures combine Viator and Tripadvisor reviews, which is why some counts are large.
We do not calculate a rating of our own and this site carries no aggregate rating in its markup, because the site itself has no reviews.
Prices
Prices are the lowest adult price on the listing at the time it was read, in US dollars, before options and extras. Where an attraction publishes its own price in Icelandic krona, that figure is given as the operator publishes it.
Platform prices move with season, group size and exchange rate. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout on the platform's own site.
